Goodnight Gore Vidal

Sheesh …

Has there ever been someone so infuriating
~ yet simultaneously enjoyable ~
to everyone as Gore Vidal ?!?

I mentioned earlier that i did not want my blog to become some type of obituary and happy birthday column …

However –

As flashes of lightning cross my window – and my beagles howl at the moon … I must say goodnight to Gore Vidal.

Gore is someone who I enjoy so much agreeably disagreeing with.

His views were something to consider – as far as pure art as it applies to photography and even the political.

Yet ~ I have never agreed so much with someone who is so skewed wrong. I have enjoyed his works … his books … his dissertations … and I am glad to see he reached 86.

Can you see how we are loosing that generation who saw the middle 20th century as young men?

How will this loss further blind those who are not even aware there WAS a 20th century ?

Alas … Gore did so much … even worked on the script for BEN HUR !

Goodnight Gore Vidal … You may not have agreed with my view – but at least you had a view worth considering.
