Submarine Movie sought by the National Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Connecticut
…
The feedback we are receiving over the Submarine Documentary Feature DVD set is taking our breath away.
We planned to begin contacting museums in April or May concerning the Submarine Movie “Submariners: The Men of the Silent Service” …
Taking one step at a time because the movie has two glowing reviews in American Submariner Magazine we want to take one step at a time so not to become overwhelmed …
There’s an amazing amount of logistics to making a movie – then to produce a physical product and then to market and distribute it.
However, we received a direct contact from the National Submarine Force Museum and library at the US Navy Submarine Base at Groton, CT that they have been hearing about the movie and want it for their facility and museum store.
I am honored beyond words !!!
The National Submarine Force Museum is where the USS Nautilus (SSN-571) rests and is on display …
There is a riveting section in the movie with six members of the original North Pole voyage crew – which is part of my personal favorite chapter about the transition from diesel-electric submarines to nuclear powered submarines.
The original USS Nautilus crew members appearing includes Shep Jenks … the USS Nautilus navigator … which was a real honor for me to meet and film.
So – we are stepping up the schedule to get them to the National Museum and then to the others. Such as the museum where the USS Razorback is located in Little Rock, Arkansas …
The USS Razorback is mentioned quite a bit since there is an original crew member who appears in the movie quite a bit.
Anyway – it is so very wonderful to see such a labor being accepted so very well.
