Infinitely Huge = Infinitely Small

| July 4, 2012

On this eve of the celebration of American Independence, I had a moment of total recall of a comment made from a professor during my engineering school days …

He spoke of how the world of physics completely falls apart about every five years …

I paraphrase … but I say it like this –

“Everything is infinitely huge and at the same time infinitely small. We will never find either end.”

But now – I feel a need to digress first –

I can tell when summer is here … my blog entries get further apart.

Here in H’ville, we get a jump on the 4th of July – on the 3rd … and boy – did we have a great fireworks display this year ! The only burp – was one, lone rocket that exploded into a “peace sign” … to which the crowd made a collective chuckle – and a single voice was heard to say “some libturd snuck one in!”

It is 1980 all over again. It is a real wonder to see it happen. Yet it is a wonder to realize that we are obviously designed to live just long enough to realize history repeats, but not long enough to convince the young in years to listen to the wisdom of age.

So – now they have found yet another particle.

Some say it proves that God exists.

I have known many who grasp onto the latest “proof” – the Shroud of Turin, etc – in order to hold onto Faith … while at the same time there are those who grasp onto the latest theory in order to cling onto their faith in having no faith …

Yet – it is the basic design to seek within – not without – to hold onto one’s own meaning of life and Faith.

The infinitely huge is equal to the infinitely small.

What a wonder it is to see the world of physics fall apart yet again !

I say that it is a real shame that CERN was not built in the United States …

Or as the French say – “Organisation europĂ©enne pour la recherche nuclĂ©aire”that said – it is wonderful to have CERN … and that they continue to search for the illusive answer to answer the meaning and construction of this universe.

They cringe when they call it “The God Particle” hehehehe ….

OF COURSE we already know the answer is 42 ;-)

Oh, well …

Happy Birthday USA !
