Newsweek sent me a Love Letter

| August 13, 2012

.

It’s everywhere these days –

Promises, promises …

Jilted lovers … jilted voters …

Promises that it will be different this time – and passing the blame for not delivering on a promise when the actions of the past speak so very loudly.

Broken hearts abound.

Then Newsweek sent me a “welcome back” letter in the mail today.

Are these people at Newsweek kidding? No – apparently not.

They promise more of a lot of stuff. More “significant news” – more “varied points of view” – and so on and so forth …

You can spray perfume on a dead fish … but it will still be a dead fish.

Newsweek (or is that newsWEAK?) really takes the public to be fools one and all.

Could you imagine getting a letter from a past flame who tried to manipulate you – make you pay for all those times together – and then cheat on you … all the while taking your money for the privilege of allowing said past flame to walk all over you …

… and the letter “welcomed you back” to a
continued relationship ?!?

Oh – and said “give me $20” at the bottom of the letter …

YEAH – RIGHT !

I’m sure plenty will be foolish enough to fall for it. Not me!

I am now gleefully watching Newsweek’s letter pass through a shredder …

As the saying goes: Fool me once – shame on you … fool me twice … shame on ME …
